WELFARE OF DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS
REHAB CENTRE FOR DMD: We have received the GO from Welfare of Differently Abled persons (DAP2.1) Department on 15.09.2014. Since it is an ongoing project the services offered for the children with Duchenne continues for its second year in 2015.
On a daily basis the DMD children are commuted from their homes to MDCRC free of cost by MDCRC ambulance and back home. The physiotherapist at the centre assists the children with all types of exercises and stretching. Also, the children are frequently assessed for their range of motion, muscle power and strength. MDCRC Rehab centre is now well equipped with most of the things required for the Duchenne children. The pleasant moments for the children to be present at the rehab centre has gained momentum and is going on in full swing. MDCRC with all its cooperation with the funding bodies would be delighted and shall consider a social responsibility to take it forward in the years to come. The future plans for the Rehab centre would be to have a swimming pool and also make an eco friendly environment for the children at the rehab.
